My older version of DC detected form fields really well. My new one won't do it. I have the "detect fields" in the "ON" position, but nothing happens. I'm working on a 160 page document with forms fields on most pages. Would really like to automate instead of creating hundreds of text fields by hand. HELP!!!

Hi Andiw,
As per the issue description mentioned above, Acrobat Pro DC not detecting form fields, is that correct?
Please refer to the following forum threads which discuss the similar issue:
Why are some form fields not recognized when I 'create a form' in Adobe X Standard? (PDF Forms)
Acrobat not recognizing/creating form fields (text fields & check boxes) created in INDD CC
Acrobat DC doesn't insert form fields automatically
Thanks,
Shivam

The second problem hasn't been resolved and I am looking for a solution to the same issue.
Thank you,
Mark

There's no real solution. You can't change the way the fields detection wizard works. If it works you're lucky; If it doesn't, you need to do it yourself. If the fields exist in consistent locations then it might be possible to automate the task of adding them using a script, at least partially.

Is there really still not a solution to this? What is the point of having a "prepare form" feature that won't auto detect potential fields. It worked for years. What happened?

II have struggled with this and the solution is to add a space after the label and then continue with "Underscore lines" for the length of the desired field. Also, unless you want the line visible, change the color to white before creating the pdf.

It is completely ridiculous! This feature was the main reason I got Adobe Acrobat Pro. I could use some other pdf software but it used to be so easy to create fillable forms with Acrobat. Now I feel like I'm wasting my money. I'm about ready to cancel.
