Acrobat Standard DC - Wrong Time Zone

Community Beginner ,
Oct 18, 2023 Oct 18, 2023

We are using the Adobe Acrobat Standard DC app to request e-sign. The date and time stamp are correct on the requested signature. However, the audit trail is marked with the incorrect time zone to GMT which does not reflect our location. This still occurs even if we have changed our preferences to Hawaiian Time Zone (HST) for each user (Preferences->Adobe Online Services->E-signing Settings->Personal Preferences->Time Zone). Adobe support says this can't be changed.

We work with other organization (that has more resources) that has Adobe E-sign (the cloud-based subscription where you send a request for signature as a "transaction"), and their audit trail reflects the correct time zone (HST). This does not make any sense. Please help!

Hi @walterbacxa

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Audit Reports are intended to be authoritative documents that articulate how a document has been manipulated from the moment it was created until it was fully resolved. They can be saved as PDF files and printed for internal processes as needed.

  • A key difference to note is that the Audit Report shows all events standardized to the GMT time zone. This mitigates confusion for auditors reviewing transactions from users across multiple time zones.
  • The Activity list is dynamically generated for the viewer and reflects all events in the time zone of the viewer's local system.
  • The time stamp of the visible signature field embedded into the agreement reflects the time zone of the signer's local system at the time the signature is applied. The time zone code is supplied to provide context when viewing the PDF.

Please explain to me how the audit trail that we received our copy of an e-sign from our colleagues from the State of Hawaii have an HST time zone stamp? I would gladly provide you a copy.

Thank you,
WNB

Hi there

Audit Report uses the GMT timezone by default, but can be configured to use the account/group defined offset if desired.

Administrators can set their account and group level time zone offset to adjust the user environment to reflect a time frame that matches user expectations.

For more information please check the link: https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/sign-config-defaul-time-zone.html

Hello!

We have set this up under the online E-sign preference for each user in Acrobat Standard DC app as stated in my original inquiry if you are following this thread. AND still shows GMT. What now?

Hi there

If you have the Admin rights, please check the account and group level time zone settings as described in the help page shared earlier.

Administrators have the option to change the default GMT time zone used in Audit Reports to use the account or group configured default time zone offset instead.

  • Enabling this feature will apply to all agreements created after the setting is saved to the system.
  • Completed agreements cannot have their audit reports adjusted to the new time zone.
