Acrobat V23 Opens and Closes Immediately

When I tried opening a PDF file, the program would open, then open a popup window (blank--nothing loaded) and then both the popup and the program would shut down.  I updated my version of Acrobat using Creative Cloud to version 23 and tried again.  Same result.  Rebooted my computer and tried again, same thing.

For the benefit of anyone else having this problem, I had to call Adobe Support and have them remotely take control of the computer and show them the issue.  They uninstalled Adobe, and then reinstalled it from a direct installation file and not Adobe Creative Cloud.  Then it started to work.

Hi @defaultivsablij74p7

We are sorry for not being able to address your query on time.

We also appreciate that you took out time to update the discussion, which would be helpful for users experiencing similar issues.

Here's a link for the direct installer of Acrobat Pro:

Thanks,

Unfortunately, the fix did not last long.  Acrobat worked for about a week, and then started doing the same thing again.  Because the uninstall and reinstall process take a long time (30 mintues at least) this solution is unacceptable.  I use the software for business purposes, and 30 minutes of wasted time is far too much.

I've tried three methods for resolving.  Accepting the EULA agreement, repairing the application through the control panel, and updating the hosts file.  No joy.
