Acrobat® X Pro for CS6

New Here ,
Nov 21, 2017 Nov 21, 2017

Hi,  I purchased Creative suite in 2014 and with that I believe Acrobat Pro was part of the package.  I have just purchased a new computer and downloaded the suite from my account but don't have Acrobat Pro-  I have a copy on my backup is there any way to install my backed up version?

no.

you'll need to use the installation file(s)* and you'll need your serial number**.

* Single user licensee downloadable installation files available:

Updates

  • Download and installation help for Adobe links

  • Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

And a big thank you to Jim @ Prodesigntools for helping me with these links!

** you have 3 ways to recover a serial number that you once had:

1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,

    a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com

    b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)

2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:)  https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

So should this be part of the creative suite and therefore the same serial number? Or a different one?

it depends.

if your suite included acrobat in the suite's installation file, use the suite installation file and your suite serial number.

if your acrobat came on a separate cd with its own serial number, use the acrobat x installation file

Ok,  is there anyway to find out the serial number from my backup?  I thought I downloaded it originally as part of the creative suite package

serial number recognition isn't related to your os (other than a win serial number won't be valid on a mac os and vice-versa).

what exactly do you see after entering your serial number?

I had Acrobat 9 Professional installed but this was removed at the advise of the Adobe support person it

was running on macOS Sierra 10.12.6. I uninstalled and reinstalled then tried to reopen the program but

I only see the acrobat splash screen and the name acrobat in the top left corner of my laptop.

acrobat 9 isn't compatible with sierra so problems are expected.

you need an older compatible os, or a newer compatible acrobat.

Could you tell me why acrobat 9 is no longer compatible under Sierra it was an understanding that all CS6 applications

would be supported from adobe for the foreseeable future so that is no longer the case for users like myself.

it's an apple issue.  they don't make their newer os'es (or anything else) backward compatible.

Hi

I have had a similar issue. I am using CS6 on a mac mojave 10.4.6. I was told by adobe support to remove Acrobat Pro and reinstal it with Acrobat DC which I then discovered was only available for a paid subcription. When i came to reinstalation of CS6 Acrobat Pro it came up with this error, see below.

Please advise. I appreciate CS6 is out-dated however i will need to use it for a little more time yet. Can i get Acrobat Pro back on my machine? I am extremely disappoited as what I had hoped would be a solution from the adobe support team has turned into a bigger problem and leaves me without Acrobat reader or writer!

Adobe support would know Acrobat X is out of support, so if you wanted support, you needed to pay for the current product. I guess. Anyway, do you have a Time Machine backup from before this all kicked off? It MIGHT get you working again. But I assume you contacted Adobe because your Acrobat X had already failed. It wasn't made for mojave, though some people can get it working.
