Acrobat X Pro not printing from Revit

I have just installed Acrobat X Pro on my new computer. I have had it on my pensioned off computer and been very happy with it doing what it was meant to do and didn't want to learn to use an updated version, as well I had the licence number for a second installation.

However it will not print from an Autodesk program (Revit 2017), It just gets about 2 bars from the start and then hangs. It used to work fine from the old computer and Revit 2010

It does print from other programs competently.

So I purchased PDF995 and use that as the selected printer and it prints to that quickly and comes out in Acrobat format! However I would much rather do away with PDF995 and just use Acrobat X Pro.

Can any one help with a fix please?

Perhaps other users of Revit 2017 might be able to advise as to whether they have similar issues with Acrobat 10 or any other version of Acrobat.

One question though. After you select the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance to print to and press OK in the print dialog, are you prompted for a file name as a destination for your PDF file? Or doesn't the process get that far? The reason I ask is that sometimes the Save as dialog for the driver is hidden underneath the application program. Pressing Alt-Tab might be able to sequence the windows such that the Save as dialog comes back to the top letting you indicate where to place the resultant PDF file and then let the PostScript generation and PostScript to PDF distillation process continue to completion.
