Hi Tracey,

If Acrobat was installed as part of CS6, please try the solution outlined here: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/acrobat-failed-launch-30-days.html

Let us know how it goes.

I must say this is an unnecessary waste of my time, and Adobe continues to be less cooperative and more of a pain to use. Listen Adobe, you are not the center of the universe, and you need to make your software more user-friendly and less prone to these mess-ups. I don't have time for this, and you are not the only program out there.

I tried the patches and it didn't work and was a bit scared of doing solution 3, but it was fiddly but worked a treat, follow step by step and have your serial number ready

thanks

Solution 3: Reactivate Acrobat through another Suite product

Important: It's necessary to perform the following instructions when connected to the Internet. Select a following product when requested to launch a CS6 Suite product: Photoshop, After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.

  1. Launch a CS6 Suite product.
  2. Choose Help > Deactivate. Follow the onscreen prompts to deactivate.
  3. Close the application.
  4. Launch the same CS6 Suite product again.
  5. Accept the EULA.
  6. Sign in with your Adobe ID to register trial.
  7. Restart the application.
  8. Click License This Software in the Trial dialog box.
  9. Sign in with your Adobe ID to register.
  10. Provide CS6 Serial number.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Quit application.
  13. Now Launch Acrobat X

Hi Tracey,

Try repairing it from Control panel, or try launching it with a different user account and check if it works or not.

Install the latest updates for Acrobat X from the link : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows

and check.

Regards,

Ravi.
