Acrobat X pro won't Start on new PC

My previous PC stopped working and I have installed Acrobat X Pro on my new windows 10 PC.  It asked for my licence key and seemed to install OK, but when I start it, I see the menu for a split second and then it closes with no message.  I have tried a Repair but still the same thing.

You know that it ran on one instance of Windows 10. It is possible that a brand new factory install  is lacking some on the old "crud" that made it work. It's also possible that you used to have the 32 bit version of the OS. But are now running the 64 bit version. It is a combination that is not supported, and I am not aware of anything besides the compatibility mode to make older software work. One option would be to run Acrobat X in a virtual machine with Windows 7 on your Windows 10 computer. You could use the free VirtualBox software, but would need a version of Windows 7 to install.

I know Acrobat 10 works on Windows 10 because I was running it fine for over a year.  My new computer has Windows 10 too, but now it doesn't work.  Nevertheless I tried all the compatiobility settings and it still won't run.

    Acrobat X official support ended back in 2015, so it predates Windows 10 (it may have worked with the original Windows 10, but I don't have any memory of ever running it on Windows 10). This means that your problems are very likely due to the software being incompatible with the newer operating system. You might be able to run it in "compatibility mode".
