Hello,
I just upgraded to Windows 8 Pro x64 form Windows 7 Pro x64 but I did clean install insead of upgade with the MS tool because I switched from classic HDD to SSD but my Apps like Adobe softwares are on a separet drive and when I installed Adobe Softwares I use (as part of Master Collection) the Acrobat X pro won't start, every other program runs well.
When I first started Acrobat the splash scrn appeared and than nothing happend since than if I trying to start is nothing happens.
On my W7 system everything worked well with the same set up just not with SSD.
Is there anyway to make Acrobat X pro work with W8 x64 or I need to upgrade to XI, is that even possible my Arobat is part of the MC?

Did you not make a backup copy? Hope you still have the SN. You should be able to use the instructions in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1061905 (post 7 I think) to download version X, with the appropriate modifications to the process.

#3 Also worked for me, just deactivate with Photoshop or something, then restart, then sign in, then restart again, then select trial or register and it will work after that. This was down for like 6 months for me until I figured this out. ARGG!! Thanks for the post.

I have same problem. I downloaded trial before I spent the money - glad I did, because it's not working, and it won't launch. It downloaded and installed but when I go to launch it I am asked to sign into my Adobe ID but the screen never comes up. Just the Adobe Spinning Ferris Wheel of Death until it times out says I need to be on the internet (I am) Or try again later.
Why is it doing this?

I did not purchase as a part of CS6. I want to purchase it independently. Also, it is not an upgrade, but a first purchase. So, no, that advice referenced does not help.

davidcw01: That is strange. It sounds like you downloaded the cloud version and not the demo version. The demo version should not be asking for the Adobe ID.

Update your AAM (Adobe Application Manager) and the dialog "might" come up afterward.

I have had this issue with several versions of Adobe Acrobat Pro over the years on PC platforms, and have finally tracked it down to downloading Adobe updates. The last time it happened was in June 2015 when I received a Google Chrome message that I needed to update Adobe Flash. I downloaded the flash update and the next day when I tried to open Adobe Acrobat Pro X from CS 6, it would not launch. I was finally able to put two and two together regarding other incidents of this same thing occurring with older versions of Windows and with older versions of Acrobat Pro.
I tried the repair function and it did not work. Then I deleted the Adobe Flash plug-in and Pro did not launch. Then I tried repair and it still did not launch. So I uninstalled Pro and reinstalled it from the original Adobe CS6 CD using the original serial number. It had nothing to do with a trial subscription in my case.
Then when I rebooted, Pro opened up with no problems. So I am not going to update any more Flash plug-ins or any more Adobe updates for Creative Suite. As proprietary as Adobe is with their products, I am highly suspicious of them.
