Adobe Acrobat 11.0.06 Crashing after scan

Hello

I am facing problems esp when using 'Create -> PDF from Scanner '

I am using Cannon MX472 multifunction printer and after it completes the scans I see the scanned pages for few brief second and then it crashes and I have to do the scan all over again.

I have apple computer with OS X 10.9.2 and also not able to find my printer when I select option ' TWAIN' in

Convert to PDF -> Scan -> Scan Driver but my printer shows up when I select ' image capture ' option.

This is really bugging me a lot as I have to scan many many documents during course of day and its double work for me.

Apart from adobe crashing all my scanned documents are coming out as grey when canned even when I select image adjustment to document.

Please advise how to fix this problem.

Thanks

Vishal

Assuming you are using a Mac, Preview gives me the option of scanning with my MG6200  although when I tried to save multiple pages as a PDF, it only saves a single page. You can work around this by saving each page then assembling them in Adobe but it is far from elegant.

Priyank - it has been 6 months since this was originally reported.  Is there any idea when it will get resolved.

I have had this product almost 90 days now with no patch or software updates to correct.  I paid good money for this program and have the highest expectations it will work as advertised.  If I cannot use it to scan and save documents then it is useless to me.  Does anyone have any further suggestions on what other programs may be able to bring me this functionality with a document scanner?  I am giving up on Adobe.  There has been plenty of time to consult with Apple and come up with a reasonable fix by now.

Problem seems to be fixed with the second OS X Yosemite Beta.

I've been having a similar problem (Case 184870325 / bug 3689925). with my 2006 Mac Pro [running OSX 10.7.5], Acrobat Pro XI, and an Epson 3540 scanner. The crazy thing is that my other two Epson scanners (a V750 Pro and a GT-S50) work great. None of the "fixes" listed have done anything more than get me frustrated.

I am experiencing exactly the same thing.

In the "Convert to PDF", there no longer exists anything relating to switching drivers. PLEASE fix this.

I'm with dsh123 on this one, I find this extremely frustrating and need Acrobat to work.

Hi,

The option to switch between ICA and Twain is no longer there in Acrobat 11.0.7. It will now display both ImageCapture and Twain compliant drivers in the same dialog.

Thanks

Any update on a fix? I am unable to use Acrobat XI as intended.  This is quite frustrating.  Thanks.

Hi,

We do not have any update at this moment but we are following it up with Apple. I will let you know once we have an update.

Thanks

Thank you Varinder.  Do you have a timeframe for a fix?  I upgraded from Acrobat 9 Pro specifically to be able to scan.  Otherwise I will have to return my new product.  Thanks.

Hi Vishal,

> Remove any other instances of Acrobat if installed on the machine like previous version Acrobat 9/X Pro . (Since it may conflict the application.)

> Make sure Acrobat is Updated till 11.0.06

> Launch the Acrobat XI Pro

> Go to Acrobat Icon on Finder and then Select the Preferences Option.

> Under Categories : Go to Accessibility : And then under "Other Accessibility Options" -

Deselect the check box which says - "Enable assistive technology support"

> Also under categories go to > Convert to Pdf > Used TWAIN first > Hit ok > Then close the Acrobat XI Pro and then relaunch the acrobat.

> Again go to Preferences and under categories go to > Convert to Pdf then select the Image Capture and then hit Ok button.

> Close acrobat and then relaunch it and see if it Helps you while you do scanning.

> Would recommend you to check to Scan the pdf when the scanner is connected through wire.

Thanks

I have the same problem.  Scanner work with my Mac otherwise, but not with Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 for Mac.  Scans, then crashes about 3-5 seconds later.  The above steps don't work.  I can deselect the "Enable assistive technology support", but do not have the buttons listed under the Convert to PDF section.

Hi Vishal and Jay,

There is a known issue with Acrobat 11 and it is specific to network/shared scanners and Mac OS 10.9. We have logged a bug in our database and we are working with Apple to resolve this issue. The workaround would be to connect the scanner via USB.

Thanks
