Adobe Acrobat 20 as default program reverts back to DC Reader after Adobe updates

When Adobe pushes updates, my default PDF viewer reverts back to DC Reader and I have to keep re-configuring Adobe Acrobat 20 as my default.  How do I make Adobe Acrobat 20 stay my default PDF viewer after updates have been released?  I appreciate the advice and thank you!

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

By default, the application with the latest version will become the default PDF handler on the system.

Also, it is not recommended to use Acrobat 2020 and Acrobat DC on the same machine as Acrobat Pro 2020 contains the functionalities of the Acrobat Reader DC application.

Hope this information will help

Regards

Amal

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your quick reply.

My superintendent does not have Acrobat DC.   He has Adobe Acrobat Pro 20 and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.  His complaint is he sets Acrobat Pro20 as default, but when Adobe updates, it reverts back to Reader DC becoming the default and opening PDF's. He wants Acrobat Pro 20 to remain the default to opening PDF's and not change back with updates.

I have sent him directions to set Adobe 20 as his default in the PDF handler after he sets his default in Windows settings.  Hopefully, this will fix his issue.

Thanks, again.
