Adobe Acrobat 24.003.20180 WIN11 - freezing problems

New Here ,
Oct 14, 2024 Oct 14, 2024

Hi,

as mentioned in

Adobe Pro keeps crashing when opening some PDFs - Adobe Community - 14909692

I have the same issues here.
Opening PDF files directly from Outlook, saving them on local SSD or network shares causing the Acrobat to freeze when scrolling/try to print/try to save.

I ran the diagniostics, here ist the ID:

c46f70fa-6611-4e7c-9fc0-497c2e093deb

Please help solving the issues.

Thanks

I have the same issue with version 2024.003.20180 64-bit in Windows 10. Acrobat Reader freezes for a while after opening any PDF document.

I have the same issue. Adobe acrobat PRO freezes and gets stuck with a blue circle, even when the PDF is only 4 pages. Very frustrating. cant get any work done.

I've had two users report this behavior today. Currently, our workaround is to make Edge the default app for PDFs.

Same issue reported here by myself and a number of others in our team.  Appears to be across all PDF files I open.  Has only recently started occuring.

Our workaround is:

1. Open Adobe (be sure to have no PDF's open)

2. File and select "disable new acrobat"

Puts us back to the older version where these issues are not a problem!  Worked a treat.

Has anyone found a way to deploy it via GPO or Registrykey? I have a lot of clients in my environment and search for a solution to doploy it.

I found the Registrykey which controlls the modern UI.

Path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\AVGeneral

Value: bEnableAV2 -> REG_DWORD -> 0

Hopfully Adobe provides an fix soon that we can change back to Modern UI.

The same issue with version 2024.003.20180 64-bit and Windows 10. Acrobat Reader freezes for a while after opening any PDF document.
There are sample PDF documents from this page https://www.princexml.com/samples/ (Dictionary and Newsletter)
and issue video recording files in the attachment.

We are suddenly seeing this in our environment as well. About half a dozen complaints so far, all version 24.003.20180 on Windows 11. PDF opens but Adobe hangs once they try to interact with it (zoom in, zoom out, scroll, etc.).
