A file called Acro3D.msi got corrupted and I tried to re-install Acrobat 9.0 Pro, but it won't because this file is no longer to be found.  Please help.

if you have an incompatible os (esp mac) you can expect some (or a lot of) problems with acrobat 9.

what's your os?

if you're using a disc, copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.

when installing use compatibility mode, xp.

It won't install because of the missing file Acro3D.msi, which is not available to download

did you use compatibility mode, win xp?

if so and that failed, i don't know what else you can do except upgrade you acrobat or find a computer with compatible win xp os.

When I bought this computer, it had Windows 7 Pro and not XP. I am a disabled veteran with a TBI, so I have no idea what you are talking about as far as XP compatibility mode and if you think you can explain that to me, you are wrong...lol. I have Acrobat DC on the computer, but I don't know how to change it back to how it opened a pdf. file. In the beginning, when I would go to open a pdf. file, it would just open it, but now when I go to open a pdf. file, it downloads it to my computer instead of just opening it. I checked a box saying that I want this to happen everytime I open this kind of file, but it backfired. Do you know how I could reverse this action so when I click to look at a file, it opens up the file instead of downloading it to my computer? Thanks

you said you had acrobat 9.

if you have acrobat dc, that is compatible with win 7.

first, uninstall all acrobat and reader versions that might be installed.  (check your control panel>uninstall programs)

then clean per Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

then restart your computer

finally reinstall acrobat dc

What I meant to say was I have Acrobat 9.0 Pro files still left on my computer that I wanted to delete, but my computer says that 'You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder' and I have no idea on how to do that because I am not a computer programmer. When I installed Acrobat DC, it must have replaced Acrobat 9.0, because Acrobat 9.0 is no longer in my programs, so I couldn't uninstall Acrobat 9.0. I don't think I will ever have another Adobe product on my computer. The free PDF reader that I have now is working fine.
