Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional Serial Number Invalid - Long-Time Install!

I have had Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional since it came out many, many years ago - 2008, I think?

I have re-installed it a couple of times, when I get a new computer or replace drives or OS.

It has been on Vista 64, Windows 7 64 Workstation, Windows 8 & 8.1 64, and now Windows 10 64 laptop.

I haven't done anything new in over a year.  Now, I get that the license has expired when I try to print an adobe document.

There is no serial number in my account - I had to recreate my account in spite of having one for years.

I do not want DC *anything*.  Everything I read says people have been shuffled for a month or better before their issue is solve.

What gives?  I bought my software, it is MINE . . .  yet Adobe breaks it?  I do not want to be shuffled between forums and tech support, and I do not allow remote access to my computers.  How do I pursue this?

assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number.  ie, you can have a valid serial number, but if it's for program A and your installation file is for program B, you will see an invalid serial number message.

I have had this program since 2008 - changed hard drives, new computers, etc.  Why would it suddenly NOW not allow me to print a .PDF?  Even if I open the .pdf in Word 2013, it will not print.

having problems after installation (eg, printing) aren't caused by a serial number issue.  it's probably caused by having an incompatible os.

I may have discovered an issue.  We were authorized to buy off a government contract by using our government email address.  I have retired and that email address is gone.

I believe it may be registered under that email.

Traceback has it going back to Adobedesk@usa.com .

Why does everyone keep mentioning Creative Suite?  I do not have Create Suite, Never wanted it.

assuming you're using a valid adobe serial number (6 groups of 4 numbers), you have a mismatch between your installation file and serial number.  ie, you can have a valid serial number, but if it's for program A and your installation file is for program B, you will see an invalid serial number message.

common mismatches are language/region (eg, serial number is for western europe and installation file is eastern europe), platform (eg, serial number is for a mac and installation file is win), license type (eg, education vs enterprise vs individual).

and one of the most common is using a program installation file with a suite's serial number. eg, using a cs6 suite serial number with a photoshop cs6 installation file.  that won't work even though photoshop is included in that suite.  you must use the (correct) suite's installation file (and you can choose to only install one program from the suite).

here's official info about that error,  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-valid-product.html

Two days ago, Adobe pop-up says “serial number expired.  Adobe Acrobat 9.5 on Windows 7 desktop and Windows 10 Laptop.

I have owned this since forever – since Adobe Acrobat 9 came out.  What gives?
