I’m facing an issue where apps or PDF files don’t start normally after booting Windows. I have to restart the system, and then they work fine

    Hello Ahmed!

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please provide more details about the issue? Are you using the Acrobat Pro desktop application or the free Acrobat Reader? Is this problem occurring with all PDFs or just a specific one? Do you get any error message when you open the PDF, and then have to restart the machine? Does the app crash when you launch it?

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20474 (Win), Apr 28, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

You can repair the app's installation files from the Menu > Help > Repair installation. After the repair, restart the machine. You may also try the suggestions from this article: https://adobe.ly/3RTjM0w

Let us know how it goes after trying these steps.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.

The Adobe desktop application is not free. When I try to open any file, it doesn’t open properly. I’ve tried some solutions, including repairing and updating the version. It only works after restarting Windows.
