I've tried restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling, changing the setting on my pdf and retrying. Any ideas what's going on here?

Hello,

As the applicaiton freezing every time you try to prepare a PDF form, please try the troubleshooting steps provided below:

For Windows - Troubleshoot Windows system errors, freezes | Adobe software

For Mac - Troubleshoot Mac OS 10.x system errors, freezes | Adobe software

Check if that helps.

If the above steps do not help, please provide us more details as asked below:

- Did you check if the issue occurs with a particular document you use to prepare PDF form?

- Acrobat version you are using

- OS version on the machine

- Share the exact workflow you do that results in the applicaiton freezing.

We will be waiting for your response.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Meenakshi,

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro (this past Friday).

All the software is up to date.

I'm running Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Version 2019.012.20034

OS is High Sierra 10.13.6

Note: it works fine on my old computer (iMac, 27 inch, Mid 2011) 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3

My process:

I created a low res pdf (using the low res preset) in Indesign.

Open in Acrobat Pro

Prepare Form

It hangs up - beachballs

Note, I'm able to make a pdf in Acrobat from my new computer

I'm unable to open the form I created with acrobat on my old computer. (I get a black screen and a beachball)

I tried to use the combine files function on acrobat on my new computer. I can add a file, but when I click combine, it hangs up with beachball.

When I use the edit PDF function, I can make edits, but when I try to save it hangs up—beachball.

I'm not going to spend more time trying all the features—it seems that many of them don't work—hang up with beach balling.

A adobe technician remoted into my new computer all afternoon yesterday. He had the same problems and couldn't solve it—He worked on it for 3 hours. When he accessed my "root" I lost him.

Please let me know how to fix this issue ASAP!!

Sincerely,

Kathy.

RE: Acrobat Pro DC

I can't do many of the things I used to do without a system beachball appearing, and then the progarm becomes unrespondent. Larger files take forever to respond. What a disaster of a program. I've deleted pref files as per suggested solutions to no positive result.

Hello,

Just wanted to add this thread in here to see if this helps to your case

Acrobat 2017 freezes when trying to bring up a Windows Expolorer window

The user provided a crash minidump file for examination which helped analyze better what the causes of the problem are in his case.

Aside from that, there was a new update announced at the beginning of this week to version plus a security bulleting announced yesterday. Please refer to the release notes and also update your product to see if that helps too.
