adobe acrobat dc reader is changing my jpegs into pdfs

Question

Adobe acrobat dc reader was installed on my windows 10 computer a day ago (I did not install it!!) and now any photos I want to download to my computer are showing up as pdf's. I've tried 'right-clicking' to change the application but I don't get any choices. When I try to download the now pdf's, they cannot be opened because they are corrupted. How do I fix this....I have already tried to change the application (see above) and no choices are given. Thanks!!

At the desktop, right-click on a JPEG image. (Show file extensions so you can make sure it is a JPEG.)
Go down to Open With...
Do NOT select any other program even if you see it in the list.
Go to Choose Another App...

Select the program of your choice.
Be sure to click Always Use This App To Open .xxx Files before clicking OK.
