adobe acrobat dc reader is changing my jpegs into pdfs

Adobe acrobat dc reader was installed on my windows 10 computer a day ago (I did not install it!!) and now any photos I want to download to my computer are showing up as pdf's. I've tried 'right-clicking' to change the application but I don't get any choices. When I try to download the now pdf's, they cannot be opened because they are corrupted. How do I fix this....I have already tried to change the application (see above) and no choices are given. Thanks!!

• At the desktop, right-click on a JPEG image. (Show file extensions so you can make sure it is a JPEG.)
• Go down to Open With...
• Do NOT select any other program even if you see it in the list.
• Go to Choose Another App...

• Select the program of your choice.
• Be sure to click Always Use This App To Open .xxx Files before clicking OK.
