[Adobe Acrobat DC] Why can't I edit these purple fields? And how can I edit them?

It feels like these purple fields in my PDF I am trying to edit have harnessed the power of Gandalf from LOTR and are like "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!". So I hope someone can help me get past them, I'd super appreciate it! So when I open my PDF in edit mode I can NOT get into these purple fields, which I need to do it because I need to know the properties of these purple fields. How can I do this?

I can enter values into the purple outside of the edit mode it would appear. But as soon as I go into edit mode they are purple and blocked off. I can't even see something as basic as the font size... I admit at this point in time I am getting very discouraged.

Thanks and bless!

Edit: Here is a screenshot of the pdf I am fighting with.

This is not form edit mode. Post a screenshot of what you see when you go into that mode.

Aha! I didn't realize that I had to edit those fields in different edit modes. Thanks! Worked like a charm!
