Using Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft Teams as the default viewer in Microsoft Teams is not working to view PDF files encrypted with Microsoft Purview Information Protection. This is supported using Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard and Reader desktop version.

When will Microsoft Purview Information Protection be supported in Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft Teams?

In my work we have this integration (or similar), but we Internet Explorer is completely disabled (not fully uninstalled),  and in the Microsoft Edge web browser we've enabled Internet Explorer Mode.

Not sure if this will help.

Also, the default web browser is Microsoft Edge accross the entire organization, not everyone have admin  privileges to set Adobe Acrobat as the default PDF handler on each client computer.

Can you be more specific and share in more detail your current workflow and at which point of that workflow what exactly doesn't work?

We are using M365 and collaborate using the Teams desktop client. Its more user friendy to use one tool (teams) to work will both office documents and PDFs. But viewing protected PDFs (encrypted using Microsoft Purview Information Protection) using the Adobe Acrobat App for Microsoft Teams is not working. PFDs not protected works fine in Teams using the Adobe Acrobat App.

Will the Adobe Acrobat App for Microsoft Teams support to open protected files using encrypted using Microsoft Purview Information Protection like Adobe Acrobat Pro/Standard and Reader desktop version?

Are you referring to the Adobe Acrobat web browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers?

I am not sure what you are referring to as the Acrobat App in Microsoft Teams.

Maybe you are referring to making Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader as the default PDF viewer for Microsoft Teams.

In any case, can you share a screenshot to show how an unprotected PDF is currently viewed in Teams?
