I'm no longer able to open Adobe Acrobat files without getting a popup that asks me to start a free trial or buy. I thought Adobe Acrobat was free. I have purchased the Acrobat export service

Acrobat Reader is for free. Acrobat DC and Acrobat DC Pro is a subscription based product. The export feature is a paid option to Acrobat reader. In order to be able to use that option, you need to be signed in.

Hi,
I've had the same problem.
Here is the answer that worked for me (given in another topic) :

Uninstall it, then run this tool: https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
Then install Reader from this link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/
Hope this helps !

Are you referring to Acrobat PRO or Acrobat READER?

Hi! I understand Acrobat Reader is free - but I have the same problem as the original poster. Whenever I open Acrobat I get a pop-up telling me "Start your free trial or go ahead and buy now." and I have no option to close it/ignore and just use the free Acrobat Reader. (When I close the pop-up it fully closes Acrobat). Do you know how to make that go away? Thank you!

Thank you for the information. However, when I attempted the download it asked for a password. How do I get a password as there doesn't appear to be a 'sign up for account' button

Hi @melody_3838,
Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!
Would you mind letting us know exactly where you were asked to put in the password?
The download page for Acrobat Reader should not ask for a login, and the same is true for the cleaner tool page.
So, letting us know the page you are trying to access should help us guide you better.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Souvik.
