Adobe Acrobat Installing outside of Creative Cloud

New Here ,
Apr 17, 2023 Apr 17, 2023

This pop-up has recently appeared twice on my screen. On both occassions it happened when I was trying to shut down the computer.

I have received the pop-up on two Adobe accounts as well (both my work and personal one, and on the personal one, I don't have downloads from third-party sources whatsoever).

Is this legitimate or some type of malware/bug?

Thanks.

If you have “Automatically install updates” enabled (Preferences→Updater), it is probably legit.

Hi beauc63980628,

Thank you for reaching out.

Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat regularly check for important updates, download them, and install them automatically. The messages you receive are legitimate. The Acrobat version mentioned in the notification is the recent update released.

For more information, please refer to the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/automatic-updates---acrobat-reader.html.

Hope the information helps.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
