Adobe [Acrobat] PDF unable to install printer driver manually

I have Adobe Acrobat DC and the PDF printer is not an option. I followed the Add Printer manually tutorial but get stuck in the "Install From Disk" window. I browse and find C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF and click on the .inf file then click "OK" which immediately takes me back to the same window.

I've uninstalled Adobe DC and used the cleaner tool to no avail.

What's your OS version?

FREE Acrobat Reader has no print driver and never has had one.  To print to PDF, you need a paid Acrobat Pro DC or Acrobat Standard.  See this related discussion.

I didn't mention Adobe Free Reader. I said Adobe DC which is the paid version that includes the pdf printer. Furthermore, I noted that I followed the tutorial shown in the link you posted. That tutorial does not work in my case. I get all the way to step 7 and it doesn't work. I'm asking for help getting past this step.
