Adobe Acrobat Pro 2023 doesn't show entire file name on tab anymore; bring back!

Do you have any idea how many PDFs I have open at a time? Sometimes all grouped within one "page" of tabs, while others opened all by themselves. When switching between files I need to first reference the PDF file name so I know I am selecting the correct file. No longer do you show the entire file name within the tab, even if there is only ONE PDF file open...why did you change this? Now I have to take multiple steps to see a file name including leaving the file I'm currently within, suchas an Excel file, then select the Adobe PDF and hover over the tab to see it name. Are you kidding me? Not efficient whatsoever. Let the tab take up as much room as it needs to show the PDF file name! If I add another PDF file to the same grouped "page," then show as much as you can of both PDF file names. Why did you change this? I'm trying to understand the reasoning.

As someone who makes very long file names to conform to a variety of naming conventions, I don't see how you could reasonably expect an entire filename to show up on a tab. But if you hover your mouse on any open document's tab, at least on a Mac, you will see the full filename without having to actually click open the tab.

This does NOT work for me. I'm on an M2 Max Macbook Pro. I use Acrobat Pro. I have long file names truncated in tabs on Acrobat and rolling over the tab does NOT show the full file name. Every once in a while when I rollover, scrolling left right up down I get a pop-up with the file name. But this is like 5% of the 95% of the wasted time I spend trying to see the file name.

This also does not work for me. It is hit or miss (plus it's TINY) and when multiple files are open it is stupidly time consuming. And I don't need the full 50 character file name, I simply need the ability to set the width wider or have it fill the space like a browser (or InDesign for that matter!)

I am DEFINATELY with  "PDF help" on this!! This is a very inconvenient change. I think there used to be a header or so showing the complete filename?

I agree. It's frustrating. Something this basic shouldn't be that hard,.

Is there still no solution to this? No way to change the width of the top menu-tab names so it shows the full name of the document?

Another unbearable element of the Acrobat Pro anti-User User Experience.

Yes, Adobe really mucked up by removing the 'hover over tab' feature to see your file name.  I have found 2 decent ways to see the full file name.

1)  right click on the tab, select reveal in explorer.  This opens the file folder with the file name highlighted.

2) right cick within the document, select document properties, it opens dialog box with file name at the top.

If there's a better way, please update!  Thank you.

The second one works on Mac but of course, it's extra steps when all you want to have is a reminder of what version/file you're working on!

For #2, you can also [command]-D to get that dialog box quickly.

Those are OK workarounds but Adobe really needs to fix this!

Ah, nice.  That's CTRL + D in Windows.  Thanks for another shortcut.
