On May 23, Adobe began experiencing issues with combining files. I'm combining pdf files into one file. When in process, it freezes on a random file and then issues an "Adobe not responding error". I have to close out Adobe completely. The only way it will combine is if I optimize each file then recombine. This is completely impossible to do since some combined files consist of 50+ individual pdf files. I've been using this version of Adobe and completing these tasks with absolutely no problem since 2018. This issue just randomly started happening on May 23. I have Windows 11 which was installed in December of 2024; no problems occurred since the installation of Windows 11 until the initial occurance on May 23. PLEASE HELP! THIS IS URGENT!

@Christine_Sammonds5908 within Acrobat's preferences (Edit > Preferences), consider temporarily disabling "Enable background saving for large documents" under the Documents category and checking "Enhanced Security" options under Security (Enhanced) to see if these settings are contributing to the instability.
If the issue persists, the problem may lie with a specific file within your batch (I sometimes have this problem, and it it's because it's a corrupt image within the PDF. ), and while optimizing each file isn't feasible, try combining in smaller batches to isolate any problematic PDFs or consider using a "Print to Adobe PDF" workflow as a last resort for complex merges.
