Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 stopped working on Windows 10 LTSC ... don't know why

Two workstations are both running Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSC.  After working all year without any issues, both started throwing up errors everytime Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 was launched.  The errors went away on one of the workstations which now runs Acrobat just fine (but we don't know why).  The other one still gives the following error:  "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."  When I look at the Event Viewer, in the Windows > Application log I see an error showing "Event ID: 1000" and "Faulting module path: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.9268_none_d08e1538442a243e\MSVCR80.dll"

Any ideas on how to resolve this, please?

Acrobat 9 was never tested for Acrobat 9, and is EoL with unfixed security issues. That isn't a solution, but it's a point to consider.

You might reinstall the Microsoft C runtime references in the message.
