Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 22 (22.001.20085) - Inconsistently opening PDF files
Software Name (Version): Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (22.001.20085) - Mar 07, 2022 release
Symptoms:
When users double-click to open PDF files within file explorer, Adobe Acrobat sometimes opens and render the document and other times does nothing to open a given PDF. What we have observed when a PDF will not open is that there are several instances of Adobe Acrobat opening within task manager even though all open instances Acrobat programs have been closed. No other programs were open during testing.
Attempted Solutions:
- Confirmed that Adobe Acrobat Pro was set to the default PDF viewer (same results outlined above)
- Ran a repair of Adobe Acrobat Pro (both from within the application and from the control panel)
- Uninstalling/installing Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Updated the the following components of a workstation:
- BIOS
- Chipset
- Used the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and removed Adobe Acrobat Pro and the Creative Cloud base app
Has anyone else experienced this behavior with the latest release? Any resolution suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
