Hi, we have a Terminal server (win2k12R2) environment with load balancing.
All user are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (free) for reading/printing PDF.
only 2 Users have access to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and have also a named License for that.

The problem is that now several users have to sign in to Acrobat Pro when opening a pdf file. even if file association is set to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the users have to sign in to Acrobat Pro when opening a pdf file. even if file association is set to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader And Adobe Acrobat DC installed on the same platform? If yes, in that case, Adobe Acrobat DC is becoming the default application to open the PDF files. You may right-click on the PDF file and then choose open with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Let us know if you are referring to something else.

Hi,

Yes both are installed on the same platform. Eventhough we choose to open the file with Adobe Reader, still Acrobat Adobe opens and all users have to logon to Adobe.

So, this is not the solution.
Is there any (other) way to change the default application for pdf for all users

Hi there,

Please try to open a pdf file by right-clicking and open with Acrobat Reader and if it asks for the sign in please sign in there then try to open a different PDF file for the same user by right-clicking and open with Acrobat Reader and see if it's asking for the sign in again.

Also, please refer to the steps provided in the help articles below to set the default PDF viewer.

1. (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/pdfviewer.html

2. (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/VirtualizationGuide/wts.html)

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
