Question

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC freezing when opening File - Issues with Stamp palette

My team is having issues with opening PDFs. We have to leave our stamp palette on due to our work flow, but when ever we try to open a PDF it freezes for >30 seconds. If we click anything it locks up and we have to restart our computers to get Adobe working again. If we turn the stamp palette off, we don't have any issues with documents opening as expected. I have searched on the forums but am not finding anything quite like this.

We are all using the latest update of adobe : 19.010.20100.63377 and we all use Windows 7 Enterprise. Reinstalling software has not helped; neither has cleaning out the temp files.

Does anyone have any ideas of what might cause the stamp palette to freeze adobe? or any ideas on what might help the issue?

Hi Heatherc,

Apologies for the delay in response, I hope you would be able to fix it by now.

If the problem still persists,

  1. Please try to update the application to the latest version. Go to Help>Check for Updates. To check the latest version available you may refer to the link- DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products
  2. Try to reboot the system. Go to Help>Repair Installation
  3. Set the preferences to default. For more information please follow the link- How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default.
