Adobe Acrobat Pro DC stopped working on Mac - "You do not have permission to open the application"

New Here ,
Sep 15, 2021 Sep 15, 2021

Trying to open Acrobat Pro DC - Got a message "Please wait a few minutes while update is installed". It never updated.

I'm on a MacBook Pro OS 11.5.2. I tried: rebooting, signing out and in of CC, and uninstalling from the CC dashboard. After "Uninstalling" the application is still there, but now I got the attached messages.

I used the uninstaller in the app folder and that worked. However, I can not reinstall it from CC now.

In the CC dashboard it shows up and says update availabe but "Open" is greyed out and there is no option to reinstall.

I can open other Adobe CC apps including Reader but now I don't have access to Pro DC.

TIA for help.

Hi Adams

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described you are now unable to install the Acrobat pro DC from the CC app  and have no access to it.

Please try to install the Acrobat Pro DC from the link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html and see if that works for you. Once installed, please try to update the application to the latets version 21.07.20091 from the help menu > Check for Updates.

You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Also as seen in the screenshot you have shared, that you are getting the error 'Acrobat quits unexpectedly' please check the steps shared in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-acrobat-pro-dc-quit-unexpectedly-when-trying-to-open-acroba... and see if that works for you.

Let us know if you experience any trouble and need more help

Regards

Amal
