Adobe Acrobat Pro freezes up after trying to insert a file, print or save. I have uninstalled all adobe products along with using the adobe cleaning tool to remover everything. I have reinstalled the cloud along with adobe acrobat pro and I still conintue to have this issue. I don't have any problems with other software like word or any issue using file explorer. I am running an updated windows 10 pc. I don't know what my next step is. I can open pdf and edit them and even combine them if I select mutlple files and right click to combine them outside of adobe but trying to save or insert files within adobe results in freezing software and have to force close it. I am able to still use other software while adobe acrobat is frozen.

Hi Diego,

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, the Acrobat DC is freezing when you try to insert, save or print the PDF and the problem exist even after reinstalling the application.

Please try to reboot the computer once and see if that helps.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDF? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the PDF is stored on a shared network/drive please try to download it to your computer and then try to open it with Acrobat DC and check.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 20.13.20074 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates.

Please try to turn off the protected mode for testing. Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup' Turn off the protected mode and Uncheck Enhanced Security > Click OK and reboot the computer.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid security risks.

If it still doesn't work, Please try to create a new test user profile in Windows with full admin rights and try using the application there and check.

You may also try the steps provided in the help pages listed below and check if that helps:

Thank you for the reply. I have tried everything and everything is updated. The only thing that work was creating a new user and running the software there. How can I fix my current user?

Hi there

Thank you for trying out the suggestions, as noticed the application is working fine in a new test user profile, it seems to be some user profile related issue and there isn't much that we can do. Please try to repair the user profile as described here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile-in-windows-1cf41c18-7ce3-12f9-8e1d-95896661c5c9  and check.

Regards
