Hi,

I am facing issue in with Adobe Acrobat Pro 12, we got a Serial Key and local installator.

So, after around 1 months seems that Acrobat stops to work, You can click on any .pdf file and its not opening.

Nothing is happening, just a circle next to our coursor on Windows 10 22H2.

Last month I just uninstalled Acrobat for my user but its not a good workaround that I have to re-install software every month.

When we install acrobat pro there no such errors and it works properly for at least 1 month.

Any idea what might I should do on user machine? Maybe it require registry change or something or extra activation?

Best,

Wojciech

@WojciechSMC that's even worse. Adobe Acrobat Pro 10 was released on November 15, 2010. Support for Adobe Acrobat X (version 10) ended on November 15, 2015 https://helpx.adobe.com/ca/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-x-reader-x.html

As stated in the Adobe Support Lifecycle Policy, Adobe provides five years of product support, starting from the general availability date of Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat. In line with this policy, support for Adobe Acrobat 10.x and Adobe Reader 10.x ended on November 15, 2015. End of Support means that Adobe no longer provides technical support or distributes runtimes. This policy affects product and security updates for all derivatives of a product or product version (localized versions, minor upgrades, operating systems, dot and double-dot releases, and connector products).

Adobe strongly recommends that customers update to the latest versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat. By updating installations to the latest versions, customers benefit from the latest functional enhancements and improved security measures. Compare versions for a list of eligible products and product comparisons to Adobe Acrobat.

@WojciechSMC I hope that you didn't but this from a third-party website or business because Adobe Acrobat Pro 12 was not the official name of a specific major release. Based on Adobe's version history, the version that would chronologically follow Acrobat 11 (released in 2012) was initially expected by some to be called Acrobat 12. However, Adobe shifted its naming convention with the release in 2015.

Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses, especially perpetual licenses obtained through retail channels or volume licensing, typically have a limit on the number of computers they can be activated on simultaneously. This is usually around two computers per single-user license. To use the license on a new machine after reaching the activation limit, you are generally required to deactivate it from one of the previously activated computers. This process releases the license seat. If the serial key you possess has already been used and activated on the maximum allowed number of computers, and those activations haven't been properly deactivated, then you won't be able to activate it on your current machine. even though it worked for a month, it is very likely Adobe caught up to this, and since the seller violate the software's End User License Agreement (EULA). The seller might not have deactivated the software from their machines, rendering the serial key unusable for you as the buyer. The software periodically checks its activation status, and upon finding that the serial is already in use on the maximum allowed devices, it could become non-functional.

The best solution
especially if the serial key you have is indeed limited to a certain number of activations and those have been used up without proper deactivation, then buying a new, legitimate license is the most straightforward and ethical solution to ensure you have a working and compliant copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro. A new subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (the current version) includes ongoing updates and support.

While it might be frustrating to purchase again after having a perpetual license stop working, buying a new, legitimate license ensures you have a reliable and legally compliant solution for your PDF needs. It also avoids the ongoing troubleshooting and potential instability associated with an improperly licensed or over-activated copy.

Also don't buy it anywhere else but adobe.com ... you got burn once with the old version of Acrobat, don't get burned again... the ol' saying "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."
