Adobe Acrobat Pro Only Opens in the Background

New Here ,
Jun 07, 2024 Jun 07, 2024

I have Windows 11. If I go into the Task Manager and End the Adobe Background Processes, then I can open one or two .pdfs.

Then, every .pdf I open after that only opens in the background and I can't see it. So, I again go into Task Manager and "End" all Adobe background processes. And, when I am in there, I can see that there are a couple of .pdfs running in the background.

Has anyone found a solution?  I have been "ending" Adobe Acrobat background processes all day long for the past year.

Help!  Thank you.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

  1. Close all apps.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Go to Windows Start Menu > Adobe Acrobat and right-click on icon.
  4. Select More > Run as Administrator.

Hope that helps.

Mine did the same after the 24H2 windows 11 update.  Used the adobe removal tool inplace of manually uninstalling the program (app) and then reinstalled after downloading the setup file from my account access.  Installed the 64-bit version and the program opned and ran with no issue.
