I went to alot of trouble instllaling and getting cs6 up and running, I used adobe update manager to update all my apps.

NowAdobe Acrobat is crashing after a few seconds after launching.

This is not surprising, considering Acrobat X's last compatible OS was 10.6.4.

Per the requirements that you linked me to;

  • Mac OS X v10.6.8, Mac OS X v10.7.4, Mac OS X v10.8, Mac OS X v10.9.2, Mac OS X v10.10, or Mac OS X (v10.11+) - This is the version I have; above 10.11, so technically it should be compatable, and 10.6.8 was not the last compatable OS, in this list, it is the first, so this is not very helpful.

Ok, just discoeved something thst might explain it, and of what I describe might help;

What I do remeber was that all the cs5 and 5.5 apps that I first bought came on one disc, with a serial number, and the Adobe Acrobat Pro came on its own dosc with its own serial number.

I downloaded the cs6 (cs6 was an upgrade I bought online from cs5.5, in a dowloadeable file form, from my products section in my Adobe account, and then went through a difficult install. I got all the apps installed along with Acrobat X Pro. I only had to inpout one serial number for all the apps including Acrobat X pro, since there was only one dmg file for everything, unlike the orginal discs. I installed all from that dmg file, thinking the one serial number would work, or so it seemed.

I took another look at my products section, and noticed that there is an Acrobat Pro 9, with its own serial number.

Maybe I need to uninstall the Acrobat Pro X from the cs6 apps folder?, and then download the dmg file from my Adobe account and install Acrobat 9, on my computer. If I do this, will I need to go through  an offline activation process like I had to with my cs6 apps?

Or can I have both Acrobat Pro X and Acrobat Pro 9 installed?

You're wasting your time. You can't use it. Acrobat 9 can't be activated offline, and neither can run on an incompatible OS version.
