Adobe Acrobat Pro X has stopped working

We have had Adobe Acrobat X Pro on this computer for years without issue.  Today it crashes every time we open it and we get the message, "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working".  I have included the problem signature below.

Both Acrobat X and Windows 7 are no longer supported.
It should not be used due to security risks.
It may be a hardware problem, but let's assume that continuous use is impossible.

Acrobat X is outdated and not compatible with Windows 10, so any update to the latter might "break" it.

You should make sure you update Acrobat to the latest version available (10.1.16, available here: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/10.x/), and maybe run it in Compatibility Mode with an earlier OS, but that's about all you can do.

Thank you for your quick reply. I should have mentioned that this computer is still on Windows 7. I looked for a "Check for Updates" option under "Help" in Acrobat, but there isn't one in this version. I'll check out the link you sent.
