Question

Adobe Acrobat Professional 2020 (Not Responding) when you click on the UI

When I open Acrobat, the screen displays, but when I click on the UI it freezes and turns grey.

I have tried the following:

- Repair using the Repair option in Control Panel > Programs

I can't Repair using the Help > Repair option in Acrobat as it freezes before I can get it to start.

Rebooted the PC several times. No change.

Using Adobe Acrobat Professional 2020
Version 20.0

I'm using Windows 10

I have Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Genuine Service on my PC.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Make sure to install all available updates, via Help - Check for updates...

Hi @ivanw65285818

Sorry to hear about your experience, and thanks for sharing the troubleshooting performed.

Since the application freezes immediately after launch, so we might need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall.

Run this cleaner tool to remove the existing installer and application’s files traces:

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html

and download the installer from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/acrobat-2020-downloads.html

If it still doesn't work, then

Create a hidden Admin account on Windows https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-enable-the-hidden-administrator-in-windows/0a8e3cf5-4f62-4f2a-b49f-4c9cbbc6d154 and try to run the application there.

Does it work well?

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thanks Akanchha,

I was away all this week and when I came back it now works. Didn't make any changes. Wonder if there was some silent upgrade in Adobe Cloud that affected it. In either case, it's working again.

Thanks for getting back.

Now it's broken again. Not sure what's causing this. Will nuke it from the PC and start over.
