Adobe Acrobat Reader DC not responding Mac

Hi there

lately ( February 2022 ) the application, when i try to open it, is not responding.

i disinstalled it, reinstalled it, several times, and the problem persists

signed in online, same...

I have a MacBook pro 2014 OS Catalina.

Gonna have to switch to another pdf reader, sadly?

Please help

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

 

What happens when you try to open the applcation? Do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for a better understanding.

 

Please try to remove the appliation using the Acrobat Cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and check if that helps.

 

Also mke sure you have the application updated to its recent version 21.11.20039. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Hi Amal

thank you so much for you reply. 

I tried everything you suggested, and the result is the same, as soon as I open Acrobat Reader, the Spinning Wait Cursor kicks in and have to force quit ( application non responding )

My OS is 10.15.7

Please try to enable the root account (MAC) https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204012 and try using the application there and check
