Adobe Acrobat's cancellation fee is straight up evil.

Hi!

So I had to get acrobat, to put together a PDF file for a school admission. I really used it just once, which at the time I thought, 240kr/month I could pay for one time use as this is an important file. I would cancel it the second month I thought... As it turns out I had to pay 1200kr for cancelling something I mistaken for a monthly subscription. As seen above (1) nowhere did it state in my plan that it was a year subscription?

This was what site looked like(2), the plan that I payed for. As I said before I don't mind the 240kr for one time use but 1200kr for cancelling? The only place it said "årligen" (yearly) is a small text without highlight, made less visible than "to pay - 00 SEK/month" but I even wanted to pay the 240kr! Anyways, I'm never going to support Adobe ever again as I'd be starving again. Someone wrote in another forum that it was only fair because it was a lower price from the start. Then I would rather pay the other full month price(359kr) than 1200kr, also 1200kr is 5 times the price of one month! 

 

For a portion of rice and 2 eggs in sweden it's around 10kr, so in comparison it's 24 meals vs 120 meals. The 24 meals last me 12 days of lunch and dinner while 120 last 60 days. I'm not even adding salt/sugar or soy onto this meal. Now you may be wondering why do I make such a dramatic comparison, that is simply because I'm poor. I earn about 5000kr because my boss won't give me more time and I'm still jobb hunting. I pay rent so then there's 1800kr left. Then if I have to pay 1200kr for cancelling fee? So that's 600kr left... all because I had to use adobe acrobat ONCE... and for a school application that I didn't even get in... Fyi (tasty) food price for one day here is about 30-40kr/day on its' cheapest day due to inflation. That's about 10-15 days of barely eating dinner. Otherwise, it's egg and rice or just rice and soy if there happens to be an accident where I needed to use my last 600kr on something else. I'm only lucky that I pay electricity bills every 3 months (about 400kr).

 

Anyways, here's more justification for my "blunder". Here's highlights of the terms Adobe thought was worth mentioning. (3)

"Terms for the free testversion:

- Billing starts automatically after the free trial period ends

Cancel the subscription before 01 July to avoid being invoiced"

 

Why couldn't they also state that the cancellation fee would also be 5x more costly once you paid for one month instead of trying for out for 7 days?

I had even paid twice because I forgot to cancel the second month(4), which I thought was fair since I had forgotten a bill. I tried to find support but only to end up on Adobe Support Community. So I thought at least I could vent my frustration. If anyone is reading this, thank you for your time. I wish you a good luck with everything. I know that not all Adobe personel  decided to go with this horrible layout and plan. The company wants profit and where else could they if not by exploiting dumb people like me. It's not the fault of people working to live day by day, I hope so at least, because then I could be no different. I'm only dumb enough to end on the losing side. Anyways, I'll try to contact support again and plead help or something now that I'm done with my rant. Thank you again for reading this mess.

Hello!

Thank you for the guide. It took me awhile to figure out that I had to go through the Chatbot to get further help when it could no longer answer. The support I got was helpful, although the cost is not gone, but is delayed so I could still save up and pay the fee. My situatin is now looking less gloom. Thank you again.
