Adobe Acrobat X Pro does not launch

I was using Adobe Acrobat X Pro without any issue todayh when it spontaneously shut down. Now, it will not relaunch, whether I click on the shortcut on the taskbar or I try to launch it in the start menu. 

It is out of service so Adobe will not support it, though I paid quite a bit for the program. 

 

A similar question was posted at https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-x-pro-won-t-start/m-p/9682007#M89818. An answer suggested instructed to OP to Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems. However, I don't have the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. I have Acrobat as part of CS6 Design and Web Premium.

 

Are there any available patches?

Acrobat X is an old and unsupported version, and is not officially compatible with any current OS, so problems are to be expected.
To increase the chances of it working properly make sure you have all updates installed (up to 10.1.16) and run it in Compatibility Mode with an earlier OS, like Windows 7.

You must use a dedicated FTP client to open the link, it won't work in most browsers.
