Hello friends.
I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. When I reinstalled it after formatting my computer, the "Select Object" button stopped working. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and I have the same problem again. How can I solve the problem? I am waiting for your help.
Have a good day.

I regret to say that Acrobat XI has reached "EOL" (End of Life), which means that if there are issues with old software, Adobe cannot fix this. I believe that the only two options you have is to either live with this or update your software.

Hello Mr. Gary.
I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.23 not Acrobat XI.

What kind of object are you trying to select, exactly? Also, make sure you install all available updates (up to 11.0.23) to increase the chances of it working properly.
Updates are available here:
ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/11.x/
You must use a dedicated FTP client to open the link, it won't work in most browsers.

Hello.
Previously I could select any image or text on a page and after selecting it I could move it and delete it. Now the Select Object command does not work. I don't understand the problem.
Thanks for your help.

You need to click on Edit Text & Images first, under Tools - Content Editing.

I know this option, I use it, but I do things faster with the Select Object button. Now I don't understand why it doesn't work at all.
Thank's.

When you reformatted your computer, did you update any of the system OS in any way?

As far as I know that's how it always worked. The Select Object tool is used for selecting things like links, fields, comments, etc., not static page contents.
