Adobe alters footer text when saving as .pdf from a word doc

Hi, I need smart people. I'm hopefull users will know more than the support peeps.

When I do a "save as .pdf" from a Word.docx, Adobe literally changes the footer text to random garble. The docoment is therefore useless, as footers contain pertinent information for controlled docs and legal contracts (file namer, version, confidential, etc.)

Adobe support said, and I quote:ā€œin some case, the text can be altered by Adobe Signā€ [WTF, this is a known issue!?]

Adobe support said the only fix is to move the doc from Word to Acrobat then to Adobe Sign in order to go through the Adobe Sign signature process! Say what? Adobe support (after multiple attempts) has zero fix, they just say that 'it's just the way it is, dunno why, but try using yet another adobe product to fix it, maybe, kinda.... we don't plan to fix it, we're just a document and document security company, so what's wrong with altering text eh? Dood..' (ok that wasn't a direct quote, but sums it up nicely)

I am having the same issue.  I am installing a trial version of a competitors product because this is inexcusable to have this type of error with no planned fix they can point to.

Let me know if the alternative works, it's pathetic adobe changes document text when it is supposed to be literally securing the validity of the document!

No - competitor product had same issue.  Made me think issue must have been with Word.  I adjusted my footer to use plain text and document fields (e.g., Page X of Y where X and Y were Word document fields).  That fixed things.  I have no idea why the original footers were problematic - jst that changing them worked
