Adobe DC pro 2023 is not able to reduce the file

I have a file of 986 pages and there are are some junk boxes on few pages. However earlier we used to reduce the file size and most of the time junk boxes were repaired. But this time, Adobe DC Pro 2023 is not able to reduce the file and showing an error which reads as " an error was encountered while processing images". Can anyone assist how to solve this problem.

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

Please go into Advanced>Print Production>Flattener Preview and then apply the flattening first (you can compress the images right in there as well). Once you do that you can "Reduce File Size"

Also make sure you have the application updated to the recent version 23.08.20355, go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

The problem is still there and i observed one thing that whenever there are lots of images in the PDF file such error messages are very common.

Please update the application to the new version 23.08.20555 from the help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

But the text is vector text:

So there is definitely something wrong with this document. What is your production process? I see that the document has been created with the “Adobe Paper Capture Plug-in”.
