When we save pdf documents from Outlook Adobe does not remember the last save file location. It takes us back to a temp location.
How do we fix this?
Adobe Standard 11.0.20; Windows 10

Sandbox was already turned off. My issue started when an Adobe update was installed. Here's what i did to resolve this issue.
I installed Adobe Reader DC; Rebooted PC; Made Reader default; Confirmed "Save" function returns you to last saved location by saving a document twice. Opened Adobe Standard, Changed it to default; Saved a file twice to confirm it returned me to last "save" location.

Hello @jessica_9715
I hope you are doing well. We are sorry for the trouble and for the delayed response.
When you redact and save a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro, the file may be saved to a temporary folder instead of the original document location. This typically occurs because Acrobat doesn’t automatically remember the last save path after redaction, especially if the file was opened directly from a recent list or via a shortcut.
Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 25.001.20630 Planned update, Aug 18, 2025. Check for any pending updates from the Menu > help > check for updates, install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.
Manually select the save location after redaction: When prompted to “Save As” after applying redactions, navigate to the original folder manually.
Avoid opening files from shortcuts or recent lists: Open the file directly from its folder using File Explorer or Finder to ensure Acrobat tracks the correct path.
Check AutoSave folder if needed: If Acrobat crashes or hangs, redacted files may be stored in: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\<Version>\Autosave
If the issue still persists with the latest version of Acrobat, then please share the current version of the operating system, a quick screen recording of the issue, and the logs from the affected machine. To collect the logs, download and run the Log Collector tool. Make sure to select all log options and attempt to reproduce the issue. After that, close the Log Collector tool; it will generate the logs along with a log ID. Please share this log ID with us for further investigation.
Thanks,
Anand Sri.

Having same problem - Adobe Pro, open pdf doc on my computer (not from Outlook or web), redact, apply/save - file is saved in an obscure temp file instead of the last known location of doc. This is something new that is going on everytime. Frustrating and time consuming

You should not have to manually select the save location - this is the problem. Adobe used to remember the file folder where you opened the file. It no longer works, even if you want to combine some files for example (with no redactions.) It is extremely time consuming to continually have to search for folders. (Yes I have the most recent version of Adobe Pro.)
