Question

Adobe form doubles text

Hey guys,

we are struggeling with a problem.

We did generate a proper form - so far so good. Now did fill out the pdf form on an iPad and Mail it back to a Mac - all the text fields got a doubled text input.

We don't have double text fields in the form (as this is a common reason)

We are completly stuck. Any idea how to fix that? Truly appreciate any advice.

Regards,
David

Hi,

I know this is too late for the users on this thread to receive an answer. I am updating this thread since Try67 already answered it. However, if you have access to Adobe Acrobat, you can use Preflight: https://adobe.ly/3DSjza2 to check certain issues with the file. There are third-party tools, as Try67 suggested, to check for issues with file structure.

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.

Hi @spy82

Sorry to hear about the trouble caused, and thanks for sharing the screenshot.

Is this form contain interactive elements? Does it have fillable fields, or does it use the Fill and Sign feature when filling out the Acrobat Reader mobile app?

It would be great if you could share the actual form with us for testing.

*You can upload the file on Adobe Cloud storage https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/home/ and share the link here. Or can upload it to any cloud storage and share the link to download it.

In addition to that, please share more details like:

  • Acrobat Reader mobile app version
  • iOS version

Thanks,

Akanchha

Appreciate your quick reply.

A sum up of the situation:

The form got filled within a custom made app, using Xcode. Then saved and sent via mail to clients. And it does not really matter if the client is using a Mac or a PC, on both - PDF opened within Acrobat Reader, the text fields got double content.

Using iOS 16.5. But same problem with iOS 15.

By the way, it does look fine when the client opens the PDF with Apple Preview.

Attached a screenshot from Apple Preview and a screeenshot from Acrobat Reader. As well as the empty form and a filled form with double text.

Really appreciate your help guys.

The empty form and the filled form are different forms.

The empty form is the one loaded within the App - the filled form is the one coming out from the App.
