We are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat DC (2021.001) and we are getting an error message when we print to PDF, that it could not open the file, and it does not create a PDF. Wierd thing is it was working 2 weeks ago, and we don't know what changed, but it stopped working. We tried different file locations, and different filenames, but same error message. It prints fine from a browser or word, but in one particular application it does not work. We tried Microsoft Print to PDF and it works, but the program is awful, and we want to use Adobe Acrobat DC.

Hi Ragu

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to create PDF using 'Print to PDF' and getting the above error message.

- Is this a behavior with a particular file or with all the files? Please try with a different file and check.

- What is the workflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF file?

Please try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon in the MS Office (Word,Excel) toolbar and check, You may also try to create the PDF from the Acrobat DC file menu > Create > PDF from file and see if that works.

Also please checkout the steps shared in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-acrobat-pdfmaker-problems-office.html and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal

It is the issue with all files, but with a particular program. The OS is Win 10 64 bit. When I try to create PDF from MS Office, or a browser it works fine.  But we mostly use Acrobat to print from Eclipse Treament Planning software by Varian, where we print generated reports, and screen shots. Like I said previously, it was working fine 2 weeks ago, and I am not sure what changed.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that. Please update the application to the new version from help menu and reboot the computer once.

You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Also please try to reset the Acrobat preferences to default as described in the help page - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792... and check

Amal
