Adobe printing using BR Script 3 driver

Question

I added the br script 3 driver quite some time ago but now I've discovered that printing large pdfs take forever. They print a few a pages and stop, print a few pages and stop. The printer in question is a Brother MFC-L5900DW.

When I print the same file to the same printer using my Macbook, it spools and prints very quickly. The only reason I have a windows laptop, is because Apple products will not print a PDF file according to page size.

Has anyone had this problem recently and if so, how did you solve it?
