Adobe reader won't print or open print properties

Hello,

Yesterday 10/29/19 the print and print properties button on my adobe reader stopped working. While I can push the print button nothing shows up in the print que and it never prints. I'm currently using windows 7 64bit. I've tried following the instructions here https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/nothing-happens-click-printer-properties.html but I can't locate the 2015\FeatureState and I have no idea what a DWORD even is.

Could someone provide a more detailed explanation on how I might resolve the problem or offer an alternative?

Hello Potter,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

As mentioned in the helpx page, one needs to create the regsitry.

Please follow the below steps to do so :

  1. From your windows machine, Press Win+R
  2. Type 'regedit' and click Enter
  3. As mentioned, you need to create a Registry at locaton - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2015\FeatureState (if your machine is 64 bit) else HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\2015\FeatureState If FeatureState key is not there, create it (if your machine is 32 bit) -- Create a DWORD 4211929 inside the FeatureState key and set its value as 1. (to create DWORD Right Cliick on the same and select 32 DWORD).Please check the below screenshot for more help :

Are you using Acrobat Reader XI?

I'm not sure. When I go into properties it says Acrobat Reader DC.

You have the latest version, but you might want to check if it is updated.

There are  three updates that were published for this month.

In any case it is easier at this point if you uninstall the current installation from your system and download and install the latest updated version of Reader from this direct link:

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/AcrobatDC/1902120049/

To compmetely remove the old installation it is recommended that you download the Adobe Repair and Cleanup Tool
