Adobe save location from Outloook 365

Hi All,

 

Adobe Acrobat DC Pro always wants to save a PDF to default location within outlook in C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Content.Outlook\B1SYX8PT

 

No matter what i do I cannot change this, i have Googled this and every instruction does not work, i can even delete this folder and creates a new one.

Yet previously i had it set to always save to download folder or at least last saved location. Not sure if this is an Adobe issue or a setting in Outlook?

To answer your question...

AFAIK, the temp folder location is controled by Outlook.

Yes I suspected that, just need to find a way to change this if possible?

I've seen some posts about a registery edit, but it is not recommended by Microsoft. 

Can you make a shortcut of the folder and put it where you want? (Not sure if a shortcut of the temp folder will work, but it's worth a try.)

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. We understand how frustrating this can be.

The behavior you’re describing where Adobe Acrobat DC Pro defaults to saving PDF attachments from Outlook is actually controlled by Microsoft Outlook, not Acrobat.

When you open a file directly from an email (especially attachments), Outlook saves it in this temporary "secure" location for preview purposes. Acrobat simply picks up the file from there when you choose to save it, which is why it defaults to that path.

To save the PDF to a different location (like your Downloads folder or your last saved location), you can try the following workflow:

1. Instead of opening the PDF directly from Outlook, right-click the attachment and select Save As. This gives you control to choose a specific folder (like Downloads).

2. Once saved, open the file from your chosen folder in Acrobat, and any changes will then default to saving in that location.

Hi Amal,

 

Thanks for your response, yes i was aware of right clicking than Save As.

 

Problem is we open so many PDF's to view them to see what they are for, to then close them just to save them is to slow and just makes the tasks take loner then it should.

 

I don't know how i did this before but previously it did save to the last save location from within Outlook, just cannot remember how i did this.

 

I think maybe it was because i edited the registry, which i did see one solution on the web.
