Adobe suddenly stopped converting Word files to PDF

New Here ,
May 31, 2023 May 31, 2023

Suddenly, Acrobat will not convert Word files to PDF.  Not just one Word file, but all of them.  Will still convert other files.

Tried rebooting and even repairing the Acrobat installation.  It literally created a PDF from the same file 30 minutes before.  Now it won't convert that file or ANY Word file.

What gives here?

Hi @wattsj72054560

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat Pro and the OS you are using? To check the version, go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.01.2017X (May Release) installed. Go to Help > check for updates and reboot the computer once.

What is the workflow/steps you are doing to create the PDF from Word file? Do you get any error message while creating the PDF? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same. A small video recording of the same would be very helpful.

Also, try to create the PDF from the Acrobat ribbon present in the MS Word toolbar at the top and see if that works. For more information about creating PDF please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/creating-pdfs-pdfmaker-windows.html

Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2023.001.20174

OS: Windows 10 Home.  OS Build 19045.2965

I will finish a Word file.  I close the Word file.  I open Acrobat.  I click File>Create> Create File From PDF.

I get this error message.

BTW, if it helps, Acrobat also intermittently clears my list of recently opened files.

I tried to use the ribbon on Word and it gave me this error message.

As you might imagine, this is not an accurate statement.  My license should not have expired and other Adobe programs work perfectly fine.

I feel that I should also point out that, after I posted the original post, Acrobat converted the file I needed to be created.

Then, shortly before posting my response to Amal, it once again refused to convert a Word file.

Not sure if that helps solve this, but it seems to be odd.

I pay a lot of money each month for this software and it is holding up a number of jobs at this point.  Is there any other tech support other than this forum where I've been waiting for five days to get no answers?
