I downgraded from the CC Suite at $49+/month to the Photoshop Lightroom package at $9.99/mo. If I understand correctly, I need to uninstall the Acrobat Pro, and then buy an individual license for that software.

CC is very different than Creative Suite (no longer licensed by Adobe). Yes, you totally replaced your subscription that included Acrobat to one that didn't. That's what happened. You can buy a subscription (monthly or annual) to Acrobat DC Pro or buy a so-called perpetual license to Acrobat DC Pro separate from your $9.99/month photography package (includes Lightroom and Photoshop).

There is absolutely nothing in the installers for Adobe Photoshop Elements that would uninstall Acrobat or any other program (other than perhaps an older version of Photoshop Elements). Something else must have happened to your system.

Actually, I am having the same problem. I switched from Creative Suite to Photoshop Lightroom. After some difficultly with uninstalling and downloading new versions, I used chat to talk to a tech person who took over my computer and helped me. Photoshop is working well now, but I cannot read my pdf files. A message states that "the license has expired." Is Acrobat Pro X part of the Creative Suite and was it uninstalled by the tech?  Thank you for any help on this.

Yes, Acrobat is included with the Creative Suite. If you deactivated (but did not uninstall) the full Creative Suite, then you lost Acrobat's licensing and would see the symptoms you describe. Uninstalling Acrobat wouldn't get you as far as a message about an expired license!

Exactly what do you mean by “switched from Creative Suite to Photoshop Lightroom?” You did some type of upgrade or what? There was no need to uninstall the old software if all you were doing was adding Lightroom.

I suspect that the “tech person who took over” your computer really didn't help you all that well!
