Adobe XI Pro Highlight Feature

Does anyone know how to fix this issue when trying to highlight specific parts of text in a document? I am attempting to highlight Highcliff Ultra and this is the minimum it will let me highlight.

This has to do with the internal structure of the file. There's not much that can be done about it, short of re-creating it. To do that export all the pages to a high-quality image file (such as PNG, via File - Save As Other - Image), and then create a new PDF file from those images and run Text Recognition on it.
