Hello !

I am getting the same error from AdobeARM.exe and I cannot fix it. It always appears everytime I open a PDF document with Version XI already uninstalled and now running Reader 9.3 but I get the same error message.
I am running Windows XP SP3

Daniel

Yep, me too. It comes up with each start. I updated everything Adobe and ran Malwarebytes, no change. According to the Internet the problem is widespread and it probably needs to be fixed. Oh and a lot of the Internet comments regarding this error are in relation to some game called Halo 2 - I'm not a gamer and there should be no such program on my computer.

Is there a case ID or anything where we can view the updated status of this?

Its starting to happen to more and more of our users and none of the fixes on this thread or others that Ive found has been able to remedy this issue.

thanks

I'm running XP Pro.  I got a message today about an update to either Acrobat or Acrobat Reader (don't remember which).  After downloading and installing it I now get the same message as luisc:

AdobeARM.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point CreateProcessWithTokenW could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll.

This happens every time I boot the computer as well as every time I read a pdf or launch Acrobat.  It takes a while to appear and gives me the impression that it's associated with the program contacting Adobe behind the scene for updates or whatever.  I'm running Acrobat Reader 11.0.08 and Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.0.  Both programs seem to run OK.  There's just this annoying message.

I can try removing and reinstalling Reader if you think it would help.  Would prefer to not do that with Acrobat.

P.S. I tried repairing Reader.  It didn't make any difference.

P.P.S. Some web searching indicates that others have experienced problems with AdobeARM.  It appears to be the update manager and there's some debate about disabling it as you'll then have to rely on manual checking for updates.  I'd rather that it worked.

Disabling updates would be a positive thing to do if you have XP, since Adobe no longer makes updates that are compatible with XP. Hence the problem.

Curiously though this happened to me on an old test machine where I thought I had already disabled all updates.

I uninstall acrobat everything (I delete the folders too and run ccleaner) and I install Acrobat X that it is fully compatible with XP, but I continue receiving the same messague. like Bill say it open think some seconds after it show the message.

Ok...

AdobeARM.exe - Entry point not found

The procedure entry point CreateProcessWithTokenW could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.DLL

Acrobat Standart XI, I had 11.0.0, I update to AcrobatUpd11013, but it doesn't fix the problem.

I run malwarebytes, ccleaner.

Hi Luis,

What triggers this error message? What were you doing when you got this error message?

Have you tried repairing Acrobat Installation?

Was Acrobat working fine on your machine before this error? Because, Acrobat XI isn't compatible with Windows XP, I would recommend you to upgrade your OS to windows 7 or higher.

Rahul
